Mission

Kashmir Rechords was founded by passionate individuals, researchers, academicians, media professionals, historians, and storytellers united in their commitment to celebrate and preserve the rich cultural heritage of this politically, historically, and culturally significant region.

Jammu and Kashmir possess a profound socio-cultural history, excelling in art, culture, spirituality, medicine, languages, flora, fauna, and more. Despite these achievements, the region is often misrepresented in the news. Our mission at Kashmir Rechords, an initiative of the Kashmir Rechords Foundation, is to showcase the true essence of Jammu and Kashmir. We highlight the contributions of luminaries such as Pt Kalhana, Abhinavgupta, Lalitaditya, Nund Reshi, Lal Ded, Bawa Jittu, Habba Khatoon, Shams Faqir, Hassan Sofi, and many others, including discussing Hindu, Buddhist, Sikh, Dogra, Muslim, and Pathan rulers. We also honour the region’s mystic poets and historic figures.

Our Mission is to correct misconceptions and share the authentic history and culture of Jammu and Kashmir, supported by historical literature, articles, audio, video, and newspaper archives that have long been overlooked. By re-enacting and rejuvenating Kashmir’s principal ethos, we aim to connect with Kashmir by assisting in research, art, and history, showcasing the unique contributions of this region with a recorded history spanning over thousands of years.

Our tagline, “Striking a Chord with Kashmir,” encapsulates our mission perfectly.
